Our client is a well-established financial institution with over 50 years of operational excellence, a strong asset base, and a reputation for stability, innovation, and progressive growth. As part of its ongoing investment in technology and enterprise transformation, the organisation is seeking to appoint a Project Manager to lead key strategic initiatives.

Reporting through the Office of the CEO, the Project Manager will provide enterprise-wide coordination and oversight of high-impact IT and business projects, ensuring timely delivery, within scope, and within budget, with clear strategic alignment and accountability.


 
Position Description - Project Manager

The Project Manager will play a key role in driving the successful execution of strategic, IT-related, and business Projects and initiatives in alignment with the organization's strategic plan.

The incumbent will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering multiple high-impact projects, ensuring that objectives are achieved on time, within scope, and within budget. This role also includes providing strategic analysis, stakeholder engagement, and change management support to ensure successful project outcomes and long-term sustainability.

The Project Manager acts as a central coordination point within the Office of the CEO, ensuring strategic visibility, alignment, and accountability across all major initiatives. The incumbent also ensures that projects comply with regulatory requirements, audit recommendations, and internal controls.

Project Planning and Initiation
  • Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in alignment with the organization's strategic initiatives.
  • In consultation with relevant stakeholders, develop comprehensive project plans outlining timelines, resource requirements, and budget estimates.
  • Identify, assess, and proactively manage project risks and issues.
  • Prepare project charters and obtain the necessary approvals to initiate project execution.
  • Conduct feasibility assessments and prepare business cases where required.

Project Execution
  • Lead the implementation of IT applications, infrastructure projects, business efficiency projects, and other strategic initiatives
  • Coordinate the efforts of cross-functional teams, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure seamless execution.
  • Monitor progress and ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Manage approved changes to project scope, schedules, and costs through established governance processes.

Quality Assurance
  • Establish and maintain project quality standards.
  • Conduct regular project reviews and audits to ensure compliance with organizational policies and standards.
  • Ensure deliverables meet defined quality criteria and stakeholder expectations.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and implement corrective actions where necessary.

Stakeholder Engagement
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve project and organizational goals.
  • Facilitate workshops and meetings to gather requirements, share updates, and solicit feedback.
  • Maintain open, transparent, and consistent communication with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and escalate issues promptly to the CEO or Steering Committee.

Change Management
  • Develop and implement change management strategies to support the adoption of new systems, processes, and structures.
  • Foster stakeholders buy-in and ensure smooth transitions from project delivery to operational integration.
  • Develop communication plans and support the adoption of new behaviours, tools, and processes.

Post Implementation Support
  • Conduct post-implementation reviews (PIR) to evaluate outcomes, benefits, and improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure comprehensive documentation, user training, and knowledge transfer are completed.
  • Monitor post-implementation performance and address any emerging issues.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting
  • Support the CEO in evaluating the effectiveness and alignment of strategic projects.
  • Track and evaluate project performance using appropriate tools, KPIs, and methodologies.
  • Provide timely progress reports, risk assessments, and mitigation strategies to the CEO and senior management.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education & Training
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Project Management, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Project Management Certification (e.g., PMP) required.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification is an asset.
  • Any relevant combination of qualifications, training, and experience would be considered.

Knowledge & Experience
  • At least 5 years in project management.
  • Experience in financial services or the credit union sector strongly preferred.
  • A proven track record in process reengineering and IT project implementation would be considered an asset.
  • Experience working with regulatory bodies and implementing audit recommendations would be considered an asset.
  • Experience in managing multi-vendor environments or outsourced technical services.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and project management tools.

Eligibility for Employment – Trinidad and Tobago
